Rules and Regulations for the conduct of shipping were posted at all ports, and also given to shipmasters if necessary upon their arrival. Illustrated is a copy of the harbor regulations for the port of Boston, ca. 1850, and quarantine procedures for vessels calling at New York in 1826.
