This Great South Bay Scooter was built around 1920 by Gilbert “Gil” Clark of Bellport, Long Island, N.Y., and was raced off of Bellport, Long Island, N.Y., Red Bank, New Jersey, and Bantom Lake in Connecticut. Builder Gil Clark, a local figure, and his family were well-known for their popular seafood Resturant, GIL CLARK’S.
