This Great South Bay Scooter was built around 1920 by Gilbert “Gil” Clark of Bellport, Long Island, N.Y.
Vessel Description: Straight on topsides, decked over except for 4-1/2′ cockpit amidships; bottom has straight run amidships, rocker fore and aft and rounds up a little close to chine; oak runners almost the full length of boat about 1-1/2′ from centerline on each side and white might be called a bilge keel on each side near chine amidships;bottom and deck cedar; topsides runners, frames, floor timers, king plank in deck and on bottom all oak; blue topsides and part of interior, white paint on part of bottom, deck scraped to bare wood.
Equipment: sails, mast, boom, jibboom, gaff blocks, lines except shrouds, cockpit cover; original except small deck modification.
