Biography of the Newman Family

The Newman family considered here consisted of a father and two sons, William D. Newman, L. Howard Newman, and William Bogert Newman. All three men seemed to have had distinguished if not historically important careers with the Navy. They commanded several vessels and the papers indicate that each one served beside several well known officers.
