Enoch Wood was a Massachusetts ship master. Apparently living in Boxford, Mass., he sailed aboard and commanded vessels engaged in the coastal and transatlantic trades between 1824 and 1845. Vessels included the ships Mogul, built in 1823 in Medford, Mass by Thatcher Magoun; the Chatham, built in 1834 in Medford by S. Lapham; the Norman, built in 1836 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire; the Chariot, George Cabot, and Alabama; as well as the Brig Kremlin, built in 1824 in Dover, Mass. Like other ship masters of his time Enoch Wood as often part owner of the vessels he commanded. He is listed as port owner of both the Norman and the Alabama.
